Privacy Policy
01 Who we are
The data controller is Pol Rué, operating as an independent developer based in Spain. As a resident of an EU member state, this policy is written in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
WaLink Quick Chat is a simple utility that lets you open a WhatsApp conversation with any phone number without saving it as a contact first. It is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children.

02 What the App does not collect
The phone numbers you type and your chat history never leave your device. They are stored only in your phone's local storage and are never transmitted to our servers or any third party. You can clear your history at any time inside the App.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts list, or any other personal information. There are no accounts and no registration process.
03 What data we do collect and why
3.1 Anonymous device identifier
When you first install the App, it generates a random 32-character hexadecimal identifier. This identifier is:
- Created from cryptographically random bytes — not derived from your hardware, IMEI, advertising ID, or any other device attribute.
- Stored on your device and synced to our backend.
- Used as your only identifier throughout the App's lifetime.
The following data is stored on the backend under your device identifier:

Legal basis: This processing is necessary to perform the service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) — contract) and to pursue our legitimate interest in operating a fair, sustainable freemium model (Art. 6(1)(f)).
3.2 Usage analytics (opt-in)
With your consent, the App sends anonymous usage events to Google Firebase via the Firebase Measurement Protocol (a direct HTTPS call — no Firebase SDK is embedded in the App). Each event contains:
- Your anonymous device identifier
- The event name (e.g. app_open, chat_opened, daily_bonus_claimed)
- Your platform (iOS or Android)
- A timestamp
No phone numbers, contact names, or personal details are included in analytics events. You can give or withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Analytics.
Legal basis: Your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
04 Local notifications
The App may offer to send you a daily local notification as a reminder to claim your daily bonus. This notification is generated entirely on your device. No notification token or push subscription is sent to our servers. You can control this permission at any time in Settings or through your device's system notification settings.
05 Data processors and international transfers
We use Supabase as our backend database and API provider. Supabase acts as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement. Supabase infrastructure may be hosted in the United States or the European Union; any data transferred outside the EEA is protected by Supabase's standard contractual clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission.
When analytics is enabled, events are processed by Google LLC in the United States, also under standard contractual clauses.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.
06 Advertising
The current version of WaLink Quick Chat contains no third-party advertising and no ad SDK. A future update may introduce optional rewarded ads powered by AppLovin MAX. If and when ads are introduced, a separate consent prompt — including an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt on iOS — will be shown before any ad SDK is initialised. This policy will be updated at that time.
07 Data retention and deletion
Your backend profile is retained for as long as the App is installed and in active use. If you uninstall the App, your local data is automatically deleted by the operating system. Your server-side profile is not automatically deleted on uninstall.
To request deletion of your server-side profile, email privacy@wa-link.app with the subject line "Delete my WaLink data." We will complete the deletion within 30 days and confirm by reply.
There is currently no in-app self-service deletion. If you need urgent deletion, please contact us directly.
08 Your GDPR rights
As a data subject under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — obtain a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data (see section 7 above).
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Restriction — ask us to limit processing while a dispute is resolved.
- Withdraw consent — withdraw analytics consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any right, contact privacy@wa-link.app. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD) or the supervisory authority in your EU country of residence.
09 Children
WaLink Quick Chat is a general-audience utility tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
10 Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where feasible, notify you through the App. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
